Thank you Marji, Bethany, Lori, Cassie, and Coleen for planning and set up efforts for this event! Despite a few clouds overhead, about 14 members and 12 SBT's enjoyed a fun day of games, food and contests. Thor (Botsford) was the winner of the Staffy Kong game with a score of 16 (knock over plastic bottles) Kazul (Stafford) was the loser knocking over only one, Star (Case) beat Fergus (Malloy) (her grandfather!) in a timed run off for the Weiner run. Otis (Stafford) scored high points in Staffy Idol, perhaps it was from his flirting with the judges that gave him points for tricks?
Cassie Malloy presided over a fun match for conformation. Best in Match: (BIM?) was Thor (Botsford) and Best Opposite Sex was Cloud (Dalton).
Best Whining: Nutmeg (Dalton), Best Tail Wag: Sadie (Coon-Hamilton) Biggest Smile: Babu (LaFavor); Best Litter Represented: Sister bitches: Violet (Coon-Hamilton) & Cloud (Dalton) & TC (Dalton). Most Gray Muzzle: Blaze (Case) tie Fergus (Malloy) tie Otis (Stafford);
Best Dessert was a flip between Nichole Hamilton’s Chocolate Bundt Cake and the Supreme Cupcakes that Lori brought from Cupcake Royale.
We also want to thank Mindy Wilson for taking photos at our event. We hope to have a link for viewing soon, but check her website: http://m-wilsonphotography.blogspot.com/
This years event was much smaller but those who attended had a good time. FABB (Families Against Bread Bands), Brynna and Debbie joined us this year. You can visit their web page at www.fabbseattle.org for more information.
SBTCPS club member Andrea demonstrated agility and obedience with her dogs Mojo and Rumble. Andrea has many good video clips on youtube under pitzncatz.
Kristy was on hand to take pictures. Check out all our events and pictures at her photobucket site; the password is "stafford".
Jim with Fergus and Tegan hosted the kissing both. How can anyone resist a kiss from a Staffy and a Boston.
Cassie assisted Coleen with CGC testing. We had five of five teams receive their CGC this year. Congratulations!
Nancy and Jackie along with some family members manned the information both. Amy was on hand with her mobile grooming van. Thanks for trimming some toes.
Everyone had a nice time sitting in the sun, visiting and playing on the agility equipment.
The clubs are looking to move the event location and weekend next year in hopes to draw more members and guests. If you would like to help or be part of our venders next year please contact Coleen at email@example.com or Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org or Nancy Warfield at email@example.com.
Thank you again to those who did attend and we hope to see the rest of you next year.
The 2009 Seattle Kennel Club show and Meet The Breed event was held at QWest Field Event Center in February. Our club had a number of Staffy's entered in the show. But the other part of the event, Meet The Breed, always provides a great opportunity for us to show off our breed. During the two day event we have club members man a booth where people can learn all about our breed and meet some dogs. Once a person has a chance to see for themselves how friendly they are they are hooked!! Many new staffy owners have been a result of meeting our breed at this show. But what is probably the most fun is to watch our dogs and the kids get to know each other. Often the kids are a little cautious at first but a fast wagging tail always breaks the ice and friends are made quickly. All in all this is a wonderful event.
You can find pictures from both the show and the Meet the Breed event in our event images.
